The Munsters -Zombo

Remember when you first saw a horror host? You no doubt wanted to be like them because they were a real monster. Wait, that sounds bizarre. Oh, well not if you are Eddie Munster. He watches this horror show hosted by Zombo and starts idolizing him more than his dad Herman. Herman takes it hard and wants his son to like him than some scary dude on the tube. Herman  tries to be as scary by adding a more outlandish look, but Eddie isn’t buying it. Eddie and his friends continue their worship of the shag haired, pointy teeth TV show host. Little known to Eddie Zombo is just a guy in make-up.  A guy who doesn’t like being a horror host. Eddie wins a contest to meet Zombo and appear on his show. He is thrilled and Herman is sour. Eddie meets Zombo before the show and is in shock to see he is a non-monster type. During the show Eddie sulks and then exposes Zombo as *gasp* a non-monster. Oh the horror. The actor thanks Eddie for ending Zombo because it made him realize this wasn’t the kind of acting he wanted to do and he is off to get back into stage acting. Eddie likes his dad again and all is well in the Munster household again.

The negatives-My only complaint is painting being horror host as a job that someone would loathe. I know it’s just a show, but the idea comes in contrast to the fact that most horror hosts I know of got into the business because they loved horror.

The good-The Munsters and a horror host, a good combination overall. The Zombo character makes an okay story rather memorable. Any Munsters episode would be good Halloween viewing, but this would be one of top choices for the holiday.

I have watched far too many horror and sc-fi shows in my life. Now I feel the need to share this wealth of knowledge and make others suffer.
